Unique creations, shaped by the craftsmanship of the finest eyewear artisans
Every brand at Art Optical has been selected following trips to international trade shows in Paris, Milan, Munich and New York, and direct meetings with the designers. Our goal: to offer only eyewear that combines artisanal quality, aesthetic singularity and durability.
Our catalogue brings together established luxury houses — Cartier, Chanel, Dior, Gucci, Bvlgari, Tom Ford, Céline, Miu Miu, Loewe and Fred — and independent designers whose work deserves a worthy showcase: Jacques Marie Mage with his limited editions in Japanese acetate, Anna-Karin Karlsson with her wearable sculptures, Moscot with its New York heritage since 1915, and Sato with exceptional Japanese craftsmanship.
Several of these brands are available in very limited quantities in Brussels — some exclusively at Art Optical, located on Avenue de la Toison d'Or in Ixelles. Our team will guide you and share the story behind each pair of glasses.
Cartier, Chanel, Dior and Gucci represent at Art Optical the haute couture of eyewear: frames created in the workshops of the world's greatest jewellers and fashion houses. The Cartier collection — in precious metals, with its iconic Santos shapes and C logo — is only available at authorised retailers. Chanel brings its signature two-tone acetates and refined metalwork to the world of eyewear. Dior translates its haute-couture codes into elegant and recognisable silhouettes. Gucci dazzles with its double-G logo and its bold, colourful approach to luxury frames.
Bvlgari draws its inspiration from Roman jewellery: its Serpenti collection and Divas' Dream silhouettes are unmistakable. Tom Ford embodies timeless glamour, with oversized acetates and bold shapes that bring Hollywood fifties style into the present day. Céline, under the artistic direction of Hedi Slimane, embraces clean minimalism reminiscent of his signature Black Frame collection. Miu Miu and Loewe complete the ensemble with a touch of whimsy and Spanish craftsmanship respectively.
Beyond the major names, independent designers form the most distinctive pillar of our selection. Jacques Marie Mage, founded in Los Angeles, produces limited editions in Japanese acetate with an obsessive attention to historical references and decorative crafts. Each model has a name, a story, an edition size — and some are already collected as works of art. Anna-Karin Karlsson, the Swedish designer, creates wearable sculptures: her Karlla, Befitting Glory and Rose et le Garçon are unique objects that blur the boundary between eyewear and jewellery.
Moscot carries a century of New York heritage: founded in 1915 on the Lower East Side by Hyman Moscot, the Lemtosh, Miltzen and Zev models have become true icons of urban style, worn by artists and intellectuals around the world. Movitra translates the Italian artisan tradition into contemporary titanium and acetate forms. Sato, a Japanese brand, works with materials of exceptional quality and brings a singular aesthetic that few workshops can match.
A visit to Art Optical is not a routine purchase. Our optometrists — qualified and passionate — take the time to analyse your facial structure, posture and personal style before proposing a curated selection of frames. Not every brand suits every face: a Cartier aviator calls for a different setting than a JMM Enzo or a Moscot Lemtosh. This guidance, offered free with every visit, is at the heart of what we do.
